Who Said You Couldn't Get A Full Spa Treatment For Free

Today I have been married to the most wonderful man for 31 years. We have had a really great life together, and we have so many things to be grateful for. We have two beautiful daughters and two awesome grand kids that have made us very proud. Of course our daughter's had all the typical teenage problems as any other teen, they were not angels, but they have always been good girls. Very loving, thoughtful, and respectful.

They have produced many memorable moments in our life's like when our oldest would dress her and her little sister up and put on shows in the living room, and the time my youngest was ask to write an story about someone in her live that she considered a Winner and she picked me to write about. She was so proud when she got an A. How I laughed when I read the story and the first line read My mom is a real Wiener.

I will still be telling these stories until I turn 90, if I live that long. This week end my grand kids gave me one of those memorable moments.

This past Sunday, just getting back from an out of town trip, I was very exhausted. The grand kids came over and they were playing in the back bedroom. They are 12 years and 9 years and very full of energy. They got very quiet, so I knew they had to be up to something. A little while later they called me to come to the bedroom, so of course I went to see what was going on. I walked in and the presented me with my robe to put over my clothes and a hair band to push my hair back and said MeMa please lay down on the bed, we are going to give you a spa treatment.

They had worked really hard to set everything up, I laid down, and to my surprise they had set up the chair massager under my back. They had microwaved a wet wash rag and put it over my face. One started on my nails and the other massaged my knees and ankles, Oh I felt like I had dyed and went to heaven. I got a facial, my finger nails and toe nails polished,They decided I would be stylish with each nail polished a different color LOL. I got a massage, and I got my hair fixed all up. They were very professional, asking me if I needed anything. It was so special, It is truly one of those memorable moments that when they are grown, I will say, do you remember when.

Who ever said that you couldn't get a full spa treatment for free.

What A Rare Find ! Jack And The Beanstalk Pattern Dishes

What A Great Rare Find ! Jack And The Beanstalk Pattern Dishes

I absolutely love going to estate sales, sometimes I can do a little research on some of the items coming up for auction before I get to the sale. Most of the time I buy on instinct this was one of those sales. Recently I attended a estate liquidation about 7 miles from my home.

In the early 1980's two sister that had been collecting a great deal of things over the years, decided to open a small Museum to display the many rare items that they had spent many years collecting. They opened the museum to the public. A couple years ago one sister passed away and recently the second sister passed, the whole estate including the Museum had to be sold.

I walked in to the Museum that day to check out all the items coming up on the auction block, because I like to have a list ahead of what I plan to bid on. In the corner displayed neatly on shelves this set of dishes just caught my eye. I had never seen such an amazing pattern and I did not recognize the mark on on the bottom, but do you know how, you just get that feeling, or call it a instinct, that there is just something very special about an item you find. Well I had to have them.

Not a lot of information is available about the maker L Batlin & Son Inc. But I did find out that they produced some really unique patterns in the 1930's - 1940's. The Jack In The Beanstalk Pattern being there most sought after highly collectible pattern. I just thought they were the most adorable and spectacular dishes I had ever come across in the last 15 years of going to auctions.

Here are a few pieces that I have on eBay

Look at the great Cookie Jar, it has jack sitting on top holding a cookie, the lid has been repaired, but hey, it is still great for display.

I Really Love Old Bottles !!! Do You ?

PhotobucketFor many years, I have had this fascination with collecting old bottles. You know I can't even tell you why I even like collecting old bottles. I guess I just love any piece of history. Some of the bottles in my collection I have bought from estate sales or yard sales, but the best thing is when you find that old bottle either in the ground or at a old dump sites. What a thrill when a great old bottle is unearthed, especially when it is great condition. Right now my collection includes old medicine bottles, old soda bottles, old milk bottles, old canning jars and old wine and beer bottles. My collection is always displayed as part of my vintage kitchen decor. I am letting a few bottles in my collection go, so up for auction is this small blue tinted bottle by Major's of New York. It is a old Rubber Cement bottle in good condition with only one very tiny chip on the bottom edge. If you are a bottle collector like me, make sure you check it out by clicking on the picture below and going to the live ebay auction, you can get more information and see more great pictures. Auction ends July 14th, so you'll want to get your bid in as soon as possible. Please take a minute to visit my ebay store and take a look at many other vintage collectibles tinasvintagetreasures.com

What An Amazing Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all you wonderful Father's including my own Father and my husband who is an amazing Father. He loves his girls.

Our oldest stopped by early this morning, after working the night shift, with a very nice Father's Day card and lot's of hugs for her dad. After giving my dad his Father's Day card and hugs this morning, dad left for church and hubby and I went fishing on our private pier on the(ICW)Inter Coastal Waterway.

Lot's of fun activities on the waterway today, but no fish. Hubby likes to net his own bait. I like to relax and take some cool pictures. After leaving, we met our oldest for lunch at one of our favorite local restaurants. They serve some of the greatest southern cooking. (Almost as good as mine LOL). Then he got a visit from our youngest, who just returned from a weekend get away with her hubby, celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary. Lot's of hugs and the girls gave their dad two blue berry bushes, for him to plant in the back yard. He has been wanting them for a while now.

We had just a awesome day and I am so grateful to be able to spend so much time with my father. I am so lucky to have my wonderful awesome hubby, after almost losing the love of my life last year in a horrible accident, in which he then had a heart attack on the operating table and they didn't think they would be able to bring him back. I am so grateful to God that he is still here with me and the girls. It makes this Father's Day even more special.
Happy Father Day !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
